Intro to Acting with Award Winning Actor Jean Kartal

Denna 6 veckors kurs kommer hållas på engelska, men läraren förstår och kan tala svenska, därför kan du välja att utföra momenten på både svenska och engelska.
This course is held in English, both English and Swedish speaking students are welcome to participate.

Course Description
Welcome to Intro to Acting! In this course we will learn the fundamentals to acting through the understanding and use of various techniques and improv.
The goal is to give you an understanding to work with the material you have been given through script breakdown, character analysis and various techniques that will give you confidence and help you bring your character to life.

Most important you will learn how to be in the moment, which means everything for us actors!

Course content
We will work with techniques based on the Stanislavsky and Stella Adler’s renowned teaching methods centered around realism and imagination, which have been used for years by many of the greatest actors in modern time going back to Marlon Brando.

Also, we will continuously be working with improvisation where you will act on stage with your fellow classmates in various given scenarios. Through improv you will learn how to use your imagination for the given scenes and how to connect to your scene partner and feed off of them.
-You will learn how to make circumstances believable and honest.

Course components
You will be assigned, or if you have a preference you can choose on your own, at least one monologue from an American or Swedish playwright that you will be working on during the course.
We will film everyone’s monologues in the end of the term, so you have a chance to practice your skill in front of the camera. Plus, it's a great opportunity to learn by seeing yourself act.

We will also learn:

-How to understand and work with the “given circumstances” of the plot.

-How to make believable and truthful connections to your character.

-How to work with the camera.
